Bill Myers returns with tween series 'Time Stumblers'
Myers is the award-winning author of several best-selling adult and juvenile book series, including Forbidden Doors, The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoogle, and McGee and Me! with combined sales of over eight million books and videos. His inspiration for creating a new line of novels for kids 8–12 came out of his commitment to “teach core character values to our young people without getting caught.”
Myers states, “If I can create stories so funny and engaging that kids don’t notice they’re learning, then I’ve done my job. For me that’s what a good writer does; he keeps you so entertained you don’t taste the medicine going down. He keeps you turning the pages with such excitement that you don’t realize you’re being challenged and changed for the better.”
In book one, New Kid Catastrophes, TJ accidentally makes an enemy of Hesper Breakahart, the superstar who attends her school, and Tuna and Herby’s attempts to help just lead to one disaster after another. TJ struggles to learn the value of looking past appearances in order to gain true friends.
In the second book in the Time Stumblers series, AAAARGH!!!, Tuna and Herby try to help TJ with a book report by getting the author to write it for her, but all three of them quickly see the consequences of cheating spiral out of control. Meanwhile, TJ’s cute neighbor and classmate, Chad Steel, is getting ready for a big surfing competition while learning his own lesson about honesty.
