It took Debra 13 years to sell her first book. Her beloved husband of 22 years died just seven months before she finally sold, so he never saw her name in print. During her grief after his death God gave Debra an appreciation for the need for humor, especially in Christian fiction. Her greatest blessing is when readers tell her one of her books helped them laugh again or see God’s love shine through during a dark time in their life.
