Erica Vetsch

Erica Vetsch

Erica Vetsch's favorite books are historical novels and history books -- and one of her greatest thrills is stumbling across some obscure historical factoid that makes her imagination leap. When she's not writing, she is company bookkeeper for the family lumber business, mother and wife, and avid museum patron.

An idea for a story blossomed when Erica Vetsch stumbled across a photograph of a cowboy from the Old West. Erica learned, “Nobody wanted his picture taken more than a cowboy fresh up the trail from Texas, and he preferred to be photographed in full cowboy regalia, guns, chaps, spurs and all. I wondered what it would be like to have been the photographer.” A Bride’s Portrait of Dodge City, Kansas (Barbour) was born with her main character, Adeline Reid, choosing photography as her career.
