Jill Williamson

Genres:
Speculative
Jill was raised in rural Alaska. Alone with her thoughts and the moose, daydreaming was a favorite pastime. As was reading. She started out with Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, Little House on the Prairie, the Hobbit, and The Chronicles of Narnia. She loves just about every genre out there, but her all time favorites are fantasy and suspense.

Jill Williamson’s latest release, Replication (Zondervan), tells the story of Martyr, a clone who escapes the facility where he has lived his entire life. Jill says, “Cloning is a controversial topic, and people are quick to praise or slam the book based on their beliefs.”

Jill did an interview with Nicole O’Dell on Teen Talk Radio in early December 2011, where she talked about the book and cloning. “The overall story,” Jill says, “isn’t so much about the science or ethics of cloning humans. It’s about the characters. I wanted to write about how cloned humans might be treated. Would they have the same rights as the rest of us? And what might their existence say about a creator God?”
