Absolutely taken with the beauty of the Amish settlement she spotted while reading a Kentucky travel magazine, author Shelly Shepard Gray knew she had to write about it. With Missing (Avon Inspire), Shelly put all the brainstorming she’d done about Crittenden County to good use with a story that not only conveyed the unique beauty of the region but provided readers with an intriguing cast of characters.

In the end, it was her own relationship with God that guided her characters’ journeys. “Whenever I write these novels, I feel that the Lord is right with me,” Shelly shares, “reassuring me that my best is good enough. What I hoped to convey was a bigger message—that we all have someone in our lives who is always with us: God.”
