Author Sigmund Brouwer, Tyndale House, and Cool2Read are partnering for a contest that is open to young writers aged 7-17. The Cool2Read Junior Author Summer Writing Contest 2013 accepts stories of 1,000 words or less. Prizes will be awarded for each age category. The deadline to enter is August 31, 2013.
Cool2Read provides fun, relevant fiction for today’s on-the-go kids in the digital world. Last fall, Tyndale Kids partnered with Sigmund Brouwer in a Cool2Read school assembly program. As part of this school outreach initiative, Tyndale Kids relaunched Cool2Read.com to offer children and parents a safe online environment to find fun and affordable (and even free) books with great content by a variety of talented authors. Teachers and librarians can find marketing materials and teaching guides on the site.
“Digging into a good book can shape your world, and we’re invested in helping shape young minds and hearts,” said Katara Patton, Tyndale Kids Acquisitions Director. “Sigmund Brouwer has been doing school presentations for years with such great response; we figured this was the perfect way to expand his outreach while expanding ours.”
