It’s springtime in Bear
Country and America’s favorite Bear family is back with two new and inspiring
Easter stories from the Berenstain Bear’s Living Lights Series, complete with
colorful stickers.

BERENSTAIN BEARS AND THE EASTER STORY (Zonderkidz),
Brother, Sister and Honey Bear learn that there is more to Easter than
chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chicks and jelly beans when their Sunday school
teacher has them sit in on a play entitled The Easter Story. This new book
evokes the true meaning behind Easter as the Bear cubs learn about Jesus’
resurrection. Young readers learn that while it is okay to indulge in Easter
goodies, they must not forget that salvation is much sweeter than candy.

In THE
BERENSTAIN BEARS ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL (Zonderkidz), Brother and Sister Bear are delighted when
their Sunday school teacher Missus Ursula takes the class on a special nature
walk around Bear Country. While the cubs are skeptical about the connection
between a hike and church, they quickly learn that God is the creator of all
things in the environment – from the succulent strawberries of Farmer Ben’s
farm to the lovable ducks paddling away in a nearby stream. All Things Bright
and Beautiful captures the essence of spring, inspiring children with its
pastel illustrations of beautiful scenery and a heartfelt message told with the
help of the lyrics to a traditional church hymn.

Perfect for Sunday school teachers or an Easter
basket surprise, these books are sure to brighten any child’s bookshelf this
spring.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS: Stan and Jan
Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain
grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable
bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Since the late
80’s, he has been very much involved as a writer and illustrator with his
family’s creation, the Berenstain Bears. He continues to work with his mother,
Jan, creating new books, writing and illustrating. The antics and activities of
Mike’s three children have provided inspiration for many Berenstain Bears books
over the years. Though Stan died in 2005, Jan and Mike continue to create the
delightful Bear adventures from their family home in Pennsylvania, in an area
that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.
