An idea for a story blossomed when Erica Vetsch stumbled across a photograph of a cowboy from the Old West. Erica learned, “Nobody wanted his picture taken more than a cowboy fresh up the trail from Texas, and he preferred to be photographed in full cowboy regalia, guns, chaps, spurs and all. I wondered what it would be like to have been the photographer.” A Bride’s Portrait of Dodge City, Kansas (Barbour) was born with her main character, Adeline Reid, choosing photography as her career.
