Coming at the end of September, Christian Store Week celebrates faith and community at your local Christian bookstore. Spearheaded by the Christian Booksellers Association, the week features special events at Christian retail stores across the country.
“Christian Store Week is all about celebrating the publishing industry and supporting a wonderful resource we don’t want to lose—Christian stores!” says author Angela Breidenbach. “Christian stores are a very special community center where we build hearts and minds together.”
This year’s event, Sept. 28-Oct. 8, will highlight the eBook and music compilation CD Lift Up, at participating stores for a $5 donation. All proceeds will help support World Vision’s U.S. food programs. The CD includes eBook editions of NIV Once-A-Day Bible, Not A Fan, and Night with a Perfect Stranger, plus songs from Christian artists Kutless, Mac Powell, and Francesca Battistelli.
“Christian Store Week highlights the ministry and service missions of Christian stores,” says CBA’s Curtis Riskey, “and offers a very tangible way to help your local community—many participating stores will have their own local outreach initiatives, too. Stores are not just about selling things; they are about reflecting the community and offering a neutral place where faith can grow and take action.”
