The idea for retired Long Beach police officer Janice Cantore’s novel Accused (Tyndale House) came straight from her work in night juvenile. “A kid had been arrested for a rather gruesome crime,” Cantore says. “I remember seeing the boy and playing the what if game… what if he were innocent? That birthed the story of a minor falsely accused of a serious crime and the cop who turns into the advocate for him when she realizes something is not right with the case.” The result is a suspenseful cop drama with twists, turns and a dash of romance.
