With a personal ministry to military wives through her website Faith Deployed, it is no surprise Jocelyn Green’s debut novel, Wedded to War (RiverNorth), is set during the Civil War with a leading character involved in military life. Jocelyn explains, “Charlotte Waverly is based on a real woman named Georgeanna Woolsey. A wealthy, 28-year-old woman in New York City when the Civil War broke out, she left a life of leisure to endure both hardships and harassment as one of the first female nurses in America. Georgeanna’s wartime courtship with her husband gave me plenty of material for one of the love interests in my character’s life, as well!”
