If you had never heard a lie, how would you know one when you were finally told one? In Wings of Arian, a young lady named Kiora has just found out that, though she thought she’d never heard a lie, her whole life is built on them – and now she has to sort out what’s true and what’s not.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION DRIVING THE STORY IN YOUR BOOK WINGS OF ARIAN?
I was watching T.V. one night, this show had a particularly large amount of violence. What startled me was not what I had seen, but that I had NO reaction. I had become so accustomed to everything, I barely even noticed. It got me thinking, “I wonder how horrifying it would be for someone that had lived, say seventy five years ago, to watch the things we as a society have become so accustomed to?” And from that, Wings of Arian was born. A story of a society that has been completely sheltered from any evil for a thousand years and what happens as it returns.

WHAT WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF WRITING THE BOOK?
The most challenging part for me was trying to shrink this manuscript down to a manageable size. I cut out over 400 pages. Yikes! Some of it may come back as a prequel however… we will see!

WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES FROM THE STORY WHERE YOU DREW ELEMENTS FROM REAL LIFE?
As a fantasy book there are many things that are obviously very different from real life. Dragons and Shapeshifters, Guardians and Magic just to name a few. My similarities to real life run much stronger in the emotional sense. My characters deal with insecurity, finding ones place in the world, rising to the occasion, being stronger than what you think you are and standing up for what is right. There is some deeper symbolism running though it as well that I would love to chat with my readers about. Find me on Twitter guys, I would love it! Let me hear what YOU think!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE READERS GET OUT OF YOUR WORK?
What I would love for my readers too get is of course enjoyment. But beyond that I; I want you to believe in yourself! Believe that you are special, that you are strong enough to do what you are destined to do, be who you are destined to be. And STOP being afraid! This is something my main character, Kiora, learns on her journey as well.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?
I am currently finishing up my first edit on book two in the Solus trilogy, Wings of Tavea. Take a peek at the cover … so pretty! I will also be starting on book three, Wings of Nestor, soon. And to top it off, I am working on a stand alone novel; the details of which are still under wraps. It is very possible that I have lost my mind. But, that is what writers do best I hear.
