Shelley Adina takes a cue from the alternative history
genra, combining steampunk technology and
imagination to bring her Magnificent Devices series
to life. Written with teens in mind, the books
have attracted readers of all ages—both in the
Christian and general markets. “While the books
have a Christian worldview, and Claire is a believer,
they’re not meant for one particular audience over
another,” Shelley says. “Instead, the heart of these
books has two distinct beats: living up to one’s potential,
and forming a family.”
