BIG IDEA ENTERTAINMENT TO RELEASE DVD COLLECTION OF THE BEST VEGGIETALES SILLY SONGS FROM THE PAST 20 YEARS

Collection VeggieTales: If I Sang a Silly Song counts down 20 fan-picked favorite tunes, and features an all-new song

FRANKLIN, TN (December 6, 2011) — Big Idea Entertainment, a leading studio and producer of children’s and family programming, characters and brands, announced today that they will release VeggieTales: If I Sang a Silly Song, on DVD and through digital download January 24 and February 7, 2012 in Christian and general market stores respectively.

VeggieTales: If I Sang a Silly Song includes the fan-voted very best Silly Songs from the past two decades. Some of the most popular Silly Songs in VeggieTales history are featured in a “The Silly Song Telethon” hosted by Larry the Cucumber including “The Hairbrush Song,” “Pants,” “His Cheeseburger” and “Monkey” among others. This release contains over 60 minutes of fun music and family-friendly content with “sing-along” karaoke versions of each song so that kids can follow along with their favorite characters, or be the star of the song with video and background tracks!

“Our iconic Silly Songs have entertained and delighted fans and families since the VeggieTales series began,” said Greg Fritz, SVP Sales and Marketing of Big Idea Entertainment. “We wanted to put together a collection that features a variety of the most popular tunes from over the years, and unveils a brand-new Silly Song with a theme selected from fan idea submission. We think they’ll be happy with the catchy winning song.”

The new Silly Song music video will debut on the VeggieTales website January 24 at VeggieTales.com/SillySong. A daily Silly Song video countdown feature will lead up to the premier beginning January 4.

DVD Synopsis

This incredible, one-of-a-kind collection features the BEST of the BEST from 20 years of VeggieTales Silly Songs! Larry the Cucumber hosts “The Silly Song Telethon” and counts down the top favorite silly songs of all-time… voted for by the fans! This titles features the top 10 songs of the first decade of VeggieTales with such classics like “Where is My Hairbrush” and “The Cheeseburger Song,” plus the top 10 songs from the second decade including “Pants,” “The Stapler Song” and “Monkey.” The fun continues with a surprise introduction of a never-before-seen, new Silly Song chosen by Larry the Cucumber from thousands of fan submissions!
