“A bird may love a fish, but where would they build a home together?” Tevye, Fiddler on the Roof.

Marjorie Gloriam, a widowed and empty-nest marriage counselor, never expected to fall in love with Colm McCloskey, a visiting Irish professor. But now their hearts yearn to be together. Marjorie hopes to convince the handsome Irishman to move permanently to Oregon so she can continue to live near her two grown daughters. Colm, who has faced many of his phobias to teach for a year in the United States, can hardly wait to return to his university in Dublin, preferably with his newfound love at his side. When Marjorie agrees to visit Ireland with Colm over Christmas break, his heart soars in anticipation. How could she not fall in love with his beautiful country? After all, his aging father expects him to take over the land he sacrificed to own … and the horse business he’s built from scratch in Ireland. Problem is, Colm has never been able to overcome his fear of horses. But perhaps, if they take time to ask and trust, they might discover God’s plans for their future are grander than either could imagine.
