Joe Hox grew up on a farm in south-central Iowa, and has been serious about drawing since at least the second grade. He has a B.A. in Fine Art, Art History, and Art Education through Dordt College and an M.A. in Art Education from the University of Nebraska.  He's taken courses through Schoolism.com to further develop his digital painting. Joe and his wife, Katie, live with their 4 kids in Iowa.
