When ten-year-old Cadence Jolly was six, her mother skipped town with dreams of becoming a singing star. Cadence inherited that musical soul, but otherwise they couldn’t be more different — she’s as shy as can be. But Cadence did make a promise last year that she would try to break out of her shell, and prayed that she’d get the courage to do it.
When a secret recording of her singing leaks and catches the attention of her whole church, she needs to decide what’s better: deceiving everyone or finally stepping into the spotlight.

Sherri Winston spent most of her childhood making up stories and reading books. She is proud to be an author for young readers. She currently lives in Central Florida with her two daughters, multiple cats, two turtles and a happy little doggie. Winston, whose President of the Whole Fifth Grade was a Sunshine State Young Readers Award selection, is also the author of The Kayla Chronicles.
