Carolyn Williford’s novel Bridge to a Distant Star (David C. Cook) is an emotionally driven story of what happens in the aftermath of unspeakable tragedy, weaving together three characters’ journeys leading up to the fateful night Tampa Bay’s most famous bridge collapsed. “My fiction ideas always come from my personal devotions, and the beginnings of this book came from the verse about denying oneself,” Carolyn says. “Because of the three-fold structure of the verse, I started envisioning a book that told the stories of three separate families.”

She and her husband, Craig, live in Deerfield, Illinois, where he serves as president of Trinity International University. They have two children and four grandchildren.
