Publishers Weekly reports that the next novel from bestselling Christian fiction author Francine Rivers will be The Disinherited. Set in 1870s California, the historical romance follows a suffragette and newspaper publisher who forms a complicated relationship with a former Union soldier from a Southern family. Tyndale House has scheduled the book for publication in 2022.

Francine told FamilyFiction:

“I hope the stories I write will increase readers’ hunger and thirst for Jesus, and the characters will inspire them to be more like Him. It’s so easy to follow the ways of the world, to get sucked into following the herd rather than be among the flock. I want to encourage readers to trust in the Lord always and to remember only His Word is truth.”
