The Gift That I Can Give (Thomas Nelson), written by Kathie Lee Gifford and illustrated by Julia Seals, is a heartwarming story that shows how all children can do something today to make a positive impact on others. From simply being kind to giving a loved one an extra-big hug to cheering for a friend, this story will inspire children with countless ways to show God’s love, leading them to want to read it again and again.
Kathie Lee told her Today Show co-hosts that the book was inspired by a song about David and Goliath that she had co-written written for a musical, The Little Giant. The song, “What Is Your Stone?” asks the listener to take note of the strengths that God has already put in their lives.
Instead of asking our children ‘What are you going to be when you grow up,’ I think we should be asking our children, ‘What are you already becoming? Because God has made you unique an special. And what can you do that no one else can do but you?’
