Krista McGee is back on bookshelves with her sophomore
novel, Starring Me (Thomas Nelson). “I wrote
Starring Me at the same time I was directing ‘Beauty
and the Beast’ at my school,” she shares. “Some of
Kara’s thoughts about acting come straight from
my students.” In the novel, Kara McKormick (who
appeared in Krista’s earlier book, First Date), auditions
to be the co-host of a teen variety show.

Krista also added these fun facts: “The doctor in the
book, Dr. Busti, is named after a good friend who just
finished medical school. My daughter Ellie auditioned
for a church play using ‘Kara’s Monologue’—and she
got a lead role!”
