Combining history and romance, Lena Nelson Dooley’s Maggie’s Journey is the first in her new McKenna’s Daughters series (Realms). The series follows identical triplets, born on a wagon train, who are left motherless. Devastated and overwhelmed, their father chooses two couples on the wagon train and delivers one of his daughters into their care, so the girls grow up without knowledge of each other. Says Lena, “Each book starts near their eighteenth birthday. Every situation is unique. However, the underlying theme in all three stories is the need for forgiveness.”
