With more
than 25
books
published
since her
1997 debut,
Lyn Cote
continues
to provide
readers with historical
stories of hope and
courage. Her latest novel,
Her Healing Ways
(Steeple Hill), features an
unconventional heroine—Mercy, who served as a nurse alongside Clara
Barton in the Civil War
and has become a
physician. “She goes west
to find a town who will
accept a
female
doctor and
her
adopted
daughter
who is a nurse and
former slave,” Lyn says.
“Mercy is a strong
woman whose greatest
gift is compassion and
mercy. That is what
makes her irresistible
to Lon Mackey, a
footloose gambler.”
