WHAT LED YOU TO WRITE ATTRACTED TO FIRE?
I like to read and write about strong women who are willing to risk their lives to keep others safe. These women are feminine and yet courageous. I’d researched women secret service agents and discovered the sometimes prejudiced attitude of male agents until the women proved themselves worthy of respect.

In the beginning: Tracie Peterson, Gilbert Morris, Robin Lee Hatcher, Stephanie Grace Whitson, Lauraine Snelling, and Judith Pella. I still admire and respect these authors, but I now add Terri Blackstock, Lee Stroble, Jerry Jenkins, Harlan Coben, Catherine Coulter, Dean Koontz, Debbie Macomber, and James Scott Bell.
HOW DOES YOUR FAITH INFLUENCE YOUR WRITING?
My faith fuels my writing. For the Christian character, I weave personality traits with an understanding that the character will act, respond, and solve problems according to a Christian worldview. For the character who will become Christian, I weave happenings that will influence a decision. For the antagonist or villain, I show how the character reacts and responds according to a worldview that is self-centered.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN THAT YOU WANTED TO BE AN AUTHOR?
Since I was in the second grade. Story is life.
WHAT DO YOU MOST HOME THAT READERS GET FROM READING YOUR WORK?
I want my readers to see a glimpse of Jesus working in the life or lives of those who trust Him. Today’s world is chaotic, fearful, and far from peaceful. My readers read to escape these pressures, and I want them to see Christianity as a positive force that can give them peace. We all have family, friends, and neighbors who will never attend church or a small group. They probably avoid us for fear we’ll speak of God. But we can hand them a novel in which one or more characters solve their problems according to a Christian worldview, and they begin to understand. In essence, Christian novelists are farmers: they plant seeds for eternity.
