Ah, summer love … Eden Morgan is determined to have the best summer yet, a summer that she hopes involves her new neighbor Channing Johnson. The trouble arises when her best friend Lexi develops eyes for him as well. In Mistaken Identity, K. Dawn Byrd creates a situation which many girls could easily relate to, and delves into how faith affects relationships in a real-world way.

WHAT LED YOU TO WRITE MISTAKEN IDENTITY?
I admire Christian teenagers who take a stand for God so much. Life isn’t easy for them in today’s world. The idea for Mistaken Identity came to me when I wondered what would happen if a Christian girl and her non-Christian best friend fell in love with the same guy. This book is dedicated to Christian young women who strive to live for Christ and wonder at times if it’s worth it all. Temptation seems to come from all sides and sometimes it’s hard to make the right decision. May God bless you richly as you carry on …

STARTING OUT, WHO WERE THE AUTHORS WHO INSPIRED YOU? WHO INSPIRES YOU NOW?
The Nancy Drew mysteries were my first loves when it comes to books. I must have read every one in the school library … twice. Now, whoever can write a good story and keep my interest is who inspires me. Since I’ve learned to edit, I have a hard time turning my internal editor off when I read, which leads to me putting some books down.

HOW DOES YOUR FAITH INFLUENCE YOUR WRITING?
There’s at least one Christian character in books and sometimes there are characters who come to know Christ. Sometimes, the story is about a Christian’s faith walk.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN YOU WANTED TO BE AN AUTHOR?
I started writing about three years ago and haven’t been able to stop. I can’t imagine not writing. It’s such a big part of my life and something I so look forward to.

WHAT DO YOU MOST HOPE THAT READERS GET FROM READING YOUR WORK?
I hope that my work strengthens believers while entertaining them.
