Q: WHAT INSPIRED YOUR BOOK GOING GREEN?
Things that I saw going on in our culture regarding the Environment. I am obviously supportive of a clean environment but I saw things in our regulatory policy that were/are “over the top.” If felt then and I still feel that environmental regulations have gone too far. In fact I feel they have reached a point where the economy is being harmed significantly. I wanted to write a fiction story that would explore some “what if” scenarios regarding the green movement and the economic future of the US.
Q: WHAT WAS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF WRITING THE STORY?
Trying not to sound paranoid or like a conspiracy nut. However, I don’t feel that the plot comes across that way at all. Writing suspense is always a challenge. You want to reveal enough of the plot at the time to hold the reader while not revealing too much.
Q: IN YOUR NEW NOVEL, WHO IS THE CHARACTER IN THIS STORY WHO SURPRISED YOU MOST?
Walter the Cab Driver. He started out to be a minor character and ended up as Ashley’s best friend and her greatest Christian influence after her love interest Hunt Finley.
Q: WHAT DO YOU WANT READERS TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR BOOK?
Mostly I want them to be entertained and captivated by a great plot and page-turning storytelling. But I also want them to think about some things. What is the real human cost of some of our environmental regulations? Is it worth any price to get any amount of pollution out of the environment? What if it is just a trace amount? How accurate are the studies that say a part per trillion of this chemical or that chemical is harmful? Aren’t there real health benefits and economic benefits to abundant and affordable energy?
Q: WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?
I am currently completing a sequel to my first novel about Noah and the Ark. This new novel will be published on Kindle in January and will be entitled The Tower about the Tower of Babel. I am also currently writing a book about my grandfather who was a revenue officer during Prohibition. That story is titled Moonshine Over Georgia.
