How Far Would You Go to Save a Life?

Carol Stream, Ill. —Every life has a turning point, where one choice changes everything. Once that line is crossed, there’s no going back. In his newest novel, award-winning author Chris Fabry delves deeply into the current and controversial issues of illegal immigration, the US/Mexico drug trade, and the cost of compassion.

Tyndale House Publishers releases Borders of the Heart in October 2012. This book is a new installment in the Chris Fabry tradition of character-driven novels with main characters who face challenging ethical dilemmas.

In this novel, protagonist J. D. Jessup has traded his guitar and the songs in his head for the daily grind of an organic farm in Tucson — mind-numbing work that dulls the pain of his memories. His boss has one rule: if anyone sees an “illegal,” he must call Border Patrol. When J. D. discovers a beautiful young woman named Maria near death along the ranch’s property line, he decides to follow his heart and hides her, unleashing a chain of deadly events he could never have imagined. Soon the two are running from a killer and struggling to stay alive. When the secrets that haunt him collide with Maria’s past, J. D. realizes that saving her may be the only way to save himself.
