In this novel, protagonist J. D. Jessup has traded his guitar and the songs in his head for the daily grind of an organic farm in Tucson — mind-numbing work that dulls the pain of his memories. His boss has one rule: if anyone sees an “illegal,” he must call Border Patrol. When J. D. discovers a beautiful young woman named Maria near death along the ranch’s property line, he decides to follow his heart and hides her, unleashing a chain of deadly events he could never have imagined. Soon the two are running from a killer and struggling to stay alive. When the secrets that haunt him collide with Maria’s past, J. D. realizes that saving her may be the only way to save himself.
About the Author
Chris Fabry, an accomplished writer and radio talk show host, is a fresh voice in Christian fiction. Fabry writes heartwarming stories of pain and redemption, clearly demonstrating the concept of grace. He hosts the daily program Chris Fabry Live! on the Moody Broadcasting Network and was honored with the 2008 Talk Personality of the Year Award from the National Religious Broadcasters.
