Soul Surfer, based on the book by Bethany Hamilton, hits theaters nationwide April 15. It tells the true story of how the teen surfer lost her arm in a shark attack—but courageously overcame all odds to become a surfing champion again through sheer determination and unwavering faith. Starring AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany and Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt as her parents, Soul Surfer also features Carrie Underwood in her film debut. “My family and I are honored to be the subject of such an amazing film,” Bethany says. “My hope is that the story continues to inspire people around the world to overcome the challenges that face them.”
