Less than two years after Jeanna Young and Jacqueline Johnson penned the first two books of the Princess Parables series, the pair returns with three new books designed to enchant young girls with beloved Bible parables told through the adventures of five royal sisters.

Each Princess Parables book contains the story of a single sister, offering a shining and distinct personality relatable to all varieties of princesses. There is the studious Princess Faith, the adventurous Princess Charity, and Princess Hope, the responsible firstborn. Each sister’s tale provides readers with valuable Christian lessons filled with insight and royal fun

In PRINCESS HOPE AND THE HIDDEN TREASURE (Zonderkidz; $12.99; June 2012), based on Matthew 13:44-45,the oldest princess sister finds her grandmother’s missing ring for sale at a local jeweler. The price is too high, even for a princess, and she must find a way to raise money to buy it. Is Princess Hope willing to make a huge sacrifice to retrieve the heirloom? And will God reward her selflessness with an unexpected treasure?

PRINCESS CHARITY’S COURAGEOUS HEART (Zonderkidz; $12.99; June 2012) is the charming retelling of the Good Samaritan story. Princess Charity has always been the adventurous sister. So while out horseback riding one day, she witnesses an accident. Will the courageous princess defy her father’s orders to save an injured young boy?

PRINCESS FAITH’S MYSTERIOUS GARDEN (Zonderkidz; $12.99; June 2012) introduces readers of the series to Faith, the thoughtful sister who discovers an abandoned garden within the castle walls. Determined to restore the garden’s beauty, she enlists her sisters to risk getting dirty by digging and planting. But each time the garden begins to bloom, problems arise – menacing crows, the blistering sun, or a violent storm. True to her name, and as told in Matthew 13:1-23, Princess Faith learns that hard work and trust in God bring rewards.

Young and Johnson expertly weave fairytale charm with important lessons, breathing new life into the parables. Acclaimed illustrator Omar Aranda delivers with glitter and beauty young girls will love.
